Legislative Work in Topeka
Now going on 12 years, I have never missed a day at work. I vote
every vote. I am keenly aware that I work for you. I will not take a
political dodge on any
issue. I have proven that I am a skillful negotiator for
Miami County. We have two highway extensions. I-69 is almost complete.
Hwy. 69's first phase is soon to be completed. The second phase is to
be "let" soon. These highways provide vital economic stimulus to our
county and we must also remember the lives saved.
We have met the challenge to keep Osawatomie State Hospital open. OSH is our county's single largest employer.
We have also fought to restore funding for Osawatomie Correctional Facility after it was cut from the budget. The facility is a valuable tool for local governments using labor to save costs to local taxpayers.
As Chair of the House Committee on Local
Government, I am in a key position to
continue to work for Miami County.
